Once upon a time there was a boy named Kevin from New Jersey. Kevin's wonderful friend Ashley suggested he look up a cute girl named Emilee from Erie, Pennsylvania. Ashley thought they might make a good match, even though she had never met Emilee.
One day, Kevin sent Emilee a message out of the blue. Even though it was a bit sarcastic, it made her smile. She messaged him back. They started to get to know each other through silly, sweet conversations.

First photo together. It was awkward. |
A Chief Apostle Service was planned in LA shortly after they began talking, and although he was afraid that Emilee might find it a little creepy (which she did), Kevin changed his plans so he could meet Emilee there. The first time they set eyes on each other, their hearts smiled. Emilee found Kevin exceptionally handsome, and Kevin thought Emilee was rather pretty, even if she did wear strange clothes. That weekend, they took quite a few evening walks together around the beautiful Pasadena area. Whenever they approached her hotel, Emilee would say, "Let's go once more around the block." Kevin didn't mind, because they were having such a grand time together.

July 4, 2009 - one year! |
Kevin kissed Emilee for the first time during one of these walks. It was the type of kiss that only comes around once in a lifetime, and they both felt it even though they didn't tell each other then.
Kevin came to visit Emilee soon after for the Fourth of July. He asked her to be his girlfriend during the fireworks. She was thrilled. They started taking the long (but not too long) trips back and forth from Erie to New Jersey. With every visit, they fell more in love. They found that they shared many of the same ideals and both loved to serve the Lord. Kevin liked that Emilee was sweet and silly and always happy, and Emilee like that Kevin was strong-minded but also very genuine, and often goofy. After a year of dating, Kevin took a 12-month position in Rochester, NY so that he could be close to Emilee while she finished school.

In Purdue, one week after
our engagement |
Although Kevin and Emilee sometimes talked about getting married, it was always off in the future (at least Emilee thought so). So when Kevin planned a special date on their two-year anniversary, Emilee thought he was just being sweet and romantic. Even when it was on the Fourth of July when they had started dating. Even when the restaurant overlooked New York City so they could watch the fireworks while eating. Even when they took an evening walk in park where they first said "I love you". When Kevin dropped to one knee, Emilee thought he was just fooling around. Until he pulled out a ring box. In complete shock, she repeatedly yelled "You're kidding! You can't be serious!" and even punched his arm a few times. After "ruining the moment," (according to Kevin) Emilee finally said "Yes! Of course!" and Kevin presented her with the most beautiful ring she could have imagined.
Now they are planning not only a wedding, but a lifelong, strong marriage. And with that and God's blessing, they will live happily ever after.
The End. (The beginning...)
